Catching up

I have to admit that I have been slack about keeping this blog and my website up to date, particularly the historical piece about Cinetron.  Well, in the way of an explanation ( excuse sounds too wimpy), my grandson, Jordan Shreiner is a starter on the Lees-McRae College Lacrosse team and I have been tied up photographing the games and posting them on my adjunct website: www.BobcatsLacrosse.com.  Anyway, I do intend to get back with the second chapter on Cinetron soon.  Until then, "GO BOBCATS"

  1. Hey Charlie,
It's good to see you again. It's been quite a while since I made your gates those many years ago. I would love to catch up with you again.

  2. Hi David,
Thanks for posting. I have been really busy this summer and fall but I have been collecting more information pictures and videos for the Cinetron story on my website. If you have anything that you'd like to contribute, please do.
Thanks again and maybe we can catch up after the Holidays

  3. Hi Charlie - I enjoyed reading about the history of Cinetron. The experience I gained working for you at Cinetron (1976-1979) served me extremely well in the continuation of my career as an editor in New York City. That experience led to another 25 years in post-production field, and was integral in my acquiring several positions in Manhattan. I started as an assistant film editor for an animation company and continued on to full editor doing national TV commercials. I always kept my hand in special effects and animation. Having such a great foundation in optical layout for film made the transition into digital a piece of cake.
So sorry to learn of Gene's passing. I've never forgotten you guys. I ended up with a wonderful career, thanks in great part to your innovation.
    All the best to you,
    Susan (Grayboff) Keefe

  4. Susan!
Great to hear from you. I was just thinking of you the other day. I have been collecting thoughts and notes to incorporate into the next chapter(can I call it a chapter?)of the Cinetron saga and my thoughts drifted you, your mother and the venerable Steenbeck editing table.
I knew that you had moved to New York but I lost track of where you were. It's wonderful to hear that you stayed in the business and that it was so good to you; you deserved it.
Thank you so much for commenting and please keep in touch.
